ContinYou supports Fathers Story Week
There is a wealth of evidence that children’s attainment benefits if their father is involved in their care and education – and Fathers’ Story Week (14-20 June) is a major new campaign to encourage dads and father figures to play a greater role in their children’s learning and development.
Schools, pre-schools and nurseries across the country are being encouraged to sign up at www.fathersstoryweek.org to download free resources including lesson plans and ideas for engaging dads.
As part of the week, the Fatherhood Institute is teaming up with children’s charity Barnardo’s to run a ‘bring your dad to school day’ on 18 June –where children are encouraged to dress up as their dads and bring them into school.
Award winning poet and Children’s laureate Michael Rosen is backing the campaign, alongside many charities including RNIB and Continyou.
