ContinYou wins Harrow Parent Partnership Service contract
Harrow Council has awarded community learning charity ContinYou the contract to run its parent partnership service (PPS) for a period of three years from 28 June 2011.
ContinYou Harrow Parent Partnership Service (CHAPPS), formerly Harrow Parent Partnership Service (HPPS), is a statutory service available to parents/carers throughout the London Borough of Harrow who have a child aged 0 to 19 with special educational needs (SEN).
CHAPPS will offer parents/carers high-quality and impartial information and support to help them make informed decisions about their child’s education.
Chris Carey, ContinYou’s Executive Director – Marketing and Development, says:
‘ContinYou is already an experienced provider of parent partnership services, having managed successful PPS services in Warwickshire since 1994 and in Ealing since April 2009. In both areas, we have built up an excellent reputation with the local council, primary, secondary and special schools, other voluntary organisations and, most importantly, parents, their children and families.’
Katherine Lyall, Service Co-ordinator, says:
‘Our aim is to provide an accessible, flexible and impartial service that responds to the needs of local parents – whether it’s guiding them through the statementing process, accompanying them to meetings, or just being there to offer support. We will continue to build positive partnerships between parents/carers, schools, voluntary organisations and Harrow Council for the benefit of the child. We believe the best results are achieved when we all work together.’
