In February 2008, the Government set out its ambition in Healthy Weight, Healthy Lives, a cross Government strategy for England. This ambition is to be the first major nation to reverse the rising tide of obesity, by ensuring that everyone is able to maintain a healthy weight. The initial focus will be on children: by 2020, the Government aims to reduce the proportion of overweight and obese children to 2000 levels. To do this, they have created the Change4Life social marketing campaign
